Step Step Guide to Internet Success Step 11–Build a Website

Article by Sean Mize

At this point, you are ready to get a domain name, get web hosting, and build a web site.

If you have never built a web site, even the very thought of it can be daunting, but do not let that stop you. Remember, without your own web site, you do not really have your own business.

Follow these steps:

1) Search online for a web host. Email me and I will send you the one I use. Although it may be tempting to find the absolutely cheapest one on the market, you do tend to get what you pay for in web hosting. Think about it this way: if you are only paying per month for hosting, how much support can they feasibly offer you if you have questions? Just keep that in mind. If you are not familiar with html, you probably should go with a web host that provides a site builder or web templates--with those you just basically type into a form what you want to appear on the web site and then hit 'enter'. If you are familiar with html, or if you want to learn, Frontpage or Dreamweaver is probably a good bet. My understanding is that Dreamweaver has a 30 day free trial you can use to see if you like it; search online for the current web address for that. I personally use Frontpage and it is great for my needs.

2) Choose a domain name. You can probably get one through the web hosting company you choose for a reasonable price. Many of the companies will give you one free if you pay for a year upfront; they will usually give you a discount if you pay in advance, also. Keep these things in mind: if you are going to be giving out your web site address offline a lot, you want to go with something that is all one word, like: secretsofinternetsuccess dot com. If you are less concerned about people typing it in, but want better search engine results long term, you are better off placing a dash between each word like this: secrets-of-internet-success dot com.

In Step 12: what to put on your web site.

How to build a successful website

Best Internet Businesses have an informative internet presence with high rankings.  Here are some of the website building techniques to help you achieve high rankings.

Step 1:  Find your niche that interests you.  Let's say you want to write about Weddings.  There are tons of other competitors out there that already have websites.  So focus on a speciality within weddings, maybe theme weddings or castle weddings or island weddings, weddings on Mauritius.  But before you decide on this niche, get yourself a word tracker tool that will analyze this data for you.  You want to look for keywords that are high in demand but low in supply.  In other words, if you chose a subject that is high in demand but not many website really meet that demand, you already have a good chance at getting a high ranking with google.  So, research your demand and supply.

Step 2:  Choose one of the keywords with the best demand and the lowest supply and use it as your prime keyword.  It should be in your title and in your body text.  If your article is very short, then use it once or twice.  If the article is very long, then you may use it several times.  Try to find some substitute words if you think you have mentioned your keyword too many times.

Step 3:  Choose 4-5 keywords as your tags and seperate them with commas.  The first one should be your prime keyword.  The other keywords should also be fairly high in demand and low in supply and should be mentioned in your article to help your ranking.

Step 4: Build Quality Content and don't keep it too short.  If it is too short and not too informative, Google will actually punish you by listing it far back.  The article should be very informative.  The reader should have gained lots of knowledge from it.

Step 5: Find other quality websites that will link to you.  This will tell Google that your website or article is high quality and deserves a good ranking.  A website should have about 3-4 good quality inbound links.

Step 6: Don't expect to receive high rankings right-a-way.  Be patient.  While you wait, keep building more quality content with the above steps in mind.  Don't add any money-making products or ideas onto your website for a few months.  Google will frown upon that and punish you again by putting you further back in the listing.

There are many companies out there that will actually assist you in building website to perform high according to the SEO model.  Some of them trick the search engines to receive high rankings.  Google is getting smarter though and is looking more and more for the honest website builder with informative content.

Get 2000 Unique Visitors per Month for your Website

Let me start by saying results will vary on the number of actually visitors you will receive based on certain criteria.  What is that criteria?  Well it could be the content of your website and how hard you work at what I am going to tell you.  I will say this though; if you implement this strategy you will increase your website visitors.  I took one website from brand spanking new (meaning no hits) up to 2000 hits per day in its first month.  Here is how I did it.

The first thing you have to remember is that your website is about something.  Let’s say you sell woodworking tools.  It’s not enough to think that woodworkers will find your website on their own and all of a sudden start buying.  Besides what you sell you have to give them a reason to go to your website.  You are in luck though, because you sell wood working tools, that makes you an expert in this field, and because of this reason you are going to give them every reason to see what you have to offer.

From this point forward your are going to be a writer.  Yes I said a writer.  You are going to write articles from 450 to 750 words in length on the subject of woodworking.  Most notably the best articles you are going to write are ones that will actually help your readers, such as how to use a router, or maybe what are the best saw blades to use, in other words, informational and educational articles.

Now that you have your article written you need to add a resource box to the bottom of the article.  A resource box is a portion of text that lets the reader know who wrote the article and how the reader can get in touch with the writer.  A typical resource box would say, “The author, John Jones, is the CEO of XYZ Woodworking tools, {insert your website address here}, a website dedicated to supplying woodworkers everywhere with top of the line tools.”  As you can see the resource box mentions your name, your company name, your company’s web address and what it is your company does.

You are probably wondering what to do with the article now that you have it completed.  Well here is the best part, and really one of the most important parts.  You are going to submit this article to various article directories such as Bukisa (my favorite), Article Dashboard, and Ezine.  These article directories publish your articles.  They get thousands if not tens of thousands of visitors on a daily basis.  Remember than resource box you put in there?  Now imagine tens of thousands of people potentially reading it with a link toe your website in there so they can find you.  Along with their visitors reading your article, they get many visitors that are looking for content on their own websites and blogs.  They will take your article with your resource box and post it on their own websites syndicating your article and making your website address available to even more people.  Your website has just gone “viral” and you didn’t spend a dime.

Now all you have to do is repeat this on a daily basis and in a month’s time your website should be receiving hundreds if not thousands of unique visitors.  The better your website and the more it has to offer the more staying power you will receive with those unique visitors.  In other words the same visitors will keep returning and will also tell their friends about your website.

As you can see this process is not rocket science.  It takes up about an hour or so of your time everyday and costs you absolutely nothing.  No advertising fees, no marketing, no direct mailings and so on.  So get writing today and start making your website more popular.

Moving Your Website Up in Search Engine Results

When you spend money on designing and building a website you want to make sure that people are going to see it. To ensure that you are getting the visitors that you need, you must make sure that you take time to work on the website.

First, you want to make sure that you are taking the time that you need to understand how the search engines work. There are a lot of people that do not realize how much traffic they can get to their website through the search engines.

You should make sure that you understand that search engines have become very popular in recent months. There are a lot of people that have a hard time understanding how the search engine works or how they can move up in the results.

If anyone tells you that they have the search engines completely figured out, they are lying. You want to make sure that you understand how you are going to work with the knowledge that has been released about the search engines.

The results that you are going to get when you are working on moving up the rankings are not going to be quick and drastic. More than likely, they are going to take some time and they will take a lot of work.

You have to make sure that you understand that you should never be promised a number one ranking. No matter how much work you do, you have to realize that there are many unknowns about how the search engines end up ranking the websites.

When you are trying to move up in the rankings, you must know what keyword you are looking to rank for. This can be a frustrating task but when you dedicate enough time and resources you will be able to find the perfect word for your campaign.

There are a lot of people that just do not understand how long finding a keyword can take. If you are doing this on your own you may find that it takes too much time instead you may want to hire a team of professionals to do it for you.

As you are talking with different professional companies you have to make sure that you do an appropriate amount of research. This way, you will know that you are not being taken advantage of by the different companies.

Second, you should make sure that you are taking the time that you need to understand how you are going to be smart about the content that you are publishing about your website. There are a lot of people that do not realize how much they should be doing.

You should be sure that you are taking the time that you need to find someone that can write about your company. There are not a lot of people that understand how important it is to have people writing about their company on a consistent basis.

Being sure that you have the right amount of content written about your website is crucial. You want the search engines to see that new content is being published about your company on a consistent basis.

You should also be sure that you are taking the time that you need to understand how you are going to manage your social media campaigns. If you do not have a social media campaign, you will want to find a way to start your campaign.

Take the time that you need to understand how you are going to reach people through different social media outlets. There are many that you can choose from and, depending on your target market, you will want a different social media campaign for each.

As you are taking the time that you need to create and manage a social media campaign you may find that you would rather hire out this job as well. Out sourcing your social media can be the best option for your company.

No matter what you decide to outsource, you should be sure that you are able to check up on the work that is being done. Make sure that you take the necessary amount of time to be checking on what is happening with your company.

Being wise about moving up in the search engines may bring your company more traffic than you ever could have expected. Make sure that you take the time that you need to find a campaign that is going to work the best for your company.

Cheap Ways to Build a Website

Nowadays, building a website usually means you have to pay professional web designers hundreds to dollars to build it for you. All this can change if you know where to find the best deals, the best designs for the lowest price. Here's a rough guide:

To start off - getting a large design firm is not going to be very cost effective. Have you ever seen those advertisements in newspaper classified ad sections that offer a 5-page website at 0? These companies are established companies with physical locations, therefore they have to increase the amount they charge to pay off some overheads: office rent, designer's wages, advertising costs and so on.

This being the case, a freelance website designer is usually a better choice.

These people are often working from home so they do not have a high operation cost like that of a company. Even better, they will have the same skill set as designers from a design firm, and will be able to get you the same quality imagery.

However, choose freelancers with care. The website elance.com is a great resource. On this site you can post your requirements and have thousands of freelancers compete for your business, giving you the overall better deal. Each freelancer has his or her own rating, experience, past transactions and reviews written by past clients.

Another route you can take is to take the Vancouver website design into your own hands.

Think about it, if you only need 5 simple pages to present some simple information, why waste hundreds of dollars for it? The only expense in this case is your own time. You'll be able to design your own sites even if you do not know a single line of HTML code with the help of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) programs such as Microsoft Frontpage, Macromedia Dreamweaver and so on.

A Quick Note About Web Hosting

In the sea of web hosting companies on the internet, there are few that go above and beyond. The one that we know of that stands out is Hostgator. Hostgator allows you to host as many websites as you can build, with no limit on bandwidth for a small monthly fee. We also have a hostgator coupon that you can use to get % off of your next hosting purchase.

The coupon code is cheaphosting25.
