However you will find a number of other possibilities simply by doing a web search for the term "domain name".

 

After securing you domain name it will also be necessary to set up a hosting account.

Again there will be a vast number of options for doing this. The location where you secured the domain name will most likely have a hosting plan. In my opinion, it is better to have your hosting separate from your registration simply because if your host should ever develop problems which would disable your site for an extended period. You would still be able to access you domain and change the host. With both at the same location, this might not be possible then you would be blocked out of your site until the host was operational again. I feel that this creates an extra step of flexibility should you ever need it.

 

Once your domain hosting is established you will be ready to set up your site. Installing a WordPress theme is the quickest and easiest way to set up your website unless you are skilled in HTML and wish to design your site from scratch (if you could do this you probably would not be reading this article).

 

After word press is installed you can customize its operation by downloading and activating a variety of widgets which are designed to perform specific functions you might desire.
